a break from quilting

Over coffee this afternoon I read about the Hottie Project...............well what's a girl to do?

Lisa over at Big Little posted about making hottie covers for the cold kidlets in Christchurch. So I just had a rummage through my fabrics & found the cute creamy, ever soooo soft polar fleece with sheep on it. I think this is what I used last year when I made some.

Any how sister's if you can manage dropping what you are doing & whipping up one, two or twenty if you please!

Back to quilting!

A rainy day and a mini retreat!

and also the first of my Patchwork of the Crosses block. Only another 55 to go!! How many years will this take? Kerryn and Raewyn you will probably wonder what I am on about. This is my new (long term) project. How many is that now? Will bring the book to our next SS get together for you both to see.

Home Again

Wow so many posts on this blog ... well done!!

We missed our SS outing last Wednesday night but did send some thoughts your way amidst all our excitement ... or probably by then exhaustion!!

Looking forward to seeing you all again and catching up with what you have been doing in our absence ... was it really only one week we were away it seems like months.

My bed was so comfy to crawl into last night, and I am sure Raewyn felt the same.

Hello Ladies thanks for tonight was awsome. I made myself a milo when I got home, sat down and redid my sample sister passwords etc and managed to get myself back into the blog so hopefully next time I go in it will work. Will try out the photo thing next time

Birthday Bag

Had lunch with the birthday girl today...she loved the bag, just needs some buttons on the corners and then she can have it back!! Terrible photos but you get the idea.

Fun times!!

Great to finish something at retreat....am very pleased with it.

My quilting pile is decreasing!!

I only have one quilt left for quilting and it is about 3/4 done but I am guessing that after the weekend the pile will start increasing again. I have 3 quilts with all their blocks completed needing to be put together. How much will I get done?

I am so looking forward to Retreat this weekend, lots of sewing but more importantly lots of fun and laughter with friends', see you all tomorrow. I am off to pack my bags!!

What can be achieved

This is what I managed to achieve on a quiet Saturday afternoon with no disruptions

 

 

Block 2 of Christmas Garden completed and attached to block 1 and

this months Breast of Friends block made. I have to admit though it was an easy one!!

There has been no sewing time for me this week. The family moved in on Sunday and it has been full on avocado pruning every day since, plus coming up with interesting lunches and dinners each day. Can't complain though as good progress is being made. Better fly I can hear the chainsaw being fired up and I am in charge of feeding the pruning's into the chipper. At least it is the perfect day to be outside. Have a good one my fellow Sisters.
